Happy birthday to me!

Most years, I've always kept awful quiet about it. I think once we got to an era where people saying happy birthday would lead to a phone vibrating or sound playing on my computer.

This year I tried to be more up front about it for once. Mostly as an excuse to play some specific ZZT games on stream and see what it would be like to do more of an actual event, streaming for more than the 2 hours that I usually try to limit myself to. It went well. I played through the entire Link's Adventure trilogy, a bit of Sivion, and all of Turmoil. I took enough breaks that I didn't feel exhausted or anything afterward, just tired of talking.

Back home, Geight is stuck working a shift that involves the store's big post-closing cleaning session, so it's 8pm and he won't be home for at least 2 more hours, but we rarely celebrate any event or holiday on the exact day.

Cohost goes read only in like a day and a half, so I'm posting this here just to try and get in the habit. There's still so much I would like to do if I'm going to try to do any kind of blogging here, even if I quietly post into a void with no readers (which is fine. I'm realizing that the most important person to write for is future me). Typing up posts in the Django admin panel is uh, not the most pleasant way to do it, but all my Cohost posts are HTML anyway, so it's not really all that different.

What else should I mention while this page is still open? I've been having fun with UFO 50. Geight and I went through it together trying mostly every game in 2 Player (skipping some of the strategy games that we'd get to far too late at night). Now I'm messing around with the single player stuff. I had a lot of fun with the cave man tower defense last night and might actually play more after this. For 2-player games, the monster exterminator game, the UFO racing game, and the party throwing card game have been a ton of fun.

I kind of want to get through at least trying everything ASAP though while so many streamers are playing it. I don't want to ruin any surprises, but I also want to see how other people approach some of the games.
