Something last week got me to take a look at the SCP wiki for the first time in ages. I (mostly) read the entire thing back in like 2010ish when they had barely cracked into the 3000s. It's kind of fun to go back to it now and just feeling free to skip 90% of them, and being more willing to just bail on ones that ain't holding my attention even if I do start reading it. And I appreciate the craft of it all way more? Some that aren't the greatest of writing are still people exploring these neat ideas they had.

When I'm more picky like this it's real obvious that I'm a sucker for anything that's "spooky unexplainable space", which a lot of super early ones espeiclaly are. "12 Rusty Keys", "Pipe Nightmare", "Afterschool Retention", "The Stairwell", oh dang these are all in the first like 100 even.

Gotta go out of my way to refind some others I remember really enjoying that I haven't seen after really skimming the first 1K. The mirror portal to a dead world still gives me the creeps just remembering it, and I remember another about a history book about the Dervish or something?

One that I don't remember is a cave leading to a replica of Earth where all life died on a random day in April 2016 that hit a lot of the same good notes as the mirror one.

Fun website. Would recommend still.
