Had our usual thanksgiving plans this week where a friend visits us on the night of and we have a small dinner together, then we head to a buddy's place and spend the night there.
Got word said buddy's husband was sick, but mostly recovered so we felt comfortable keeping our plans, but then with our ride on its way we learn they weren't as recovered as it sounded and they'd be quarantining themselves in a home office. Our friend had been sleeping on the couch to try and avoid catching anything and hadn't felt ill at all.
After a bit of hemming and hawing we decided to still visit rather than cancel like 5 minutes before heading over. The friend that had been sleeping on the couch was clearly not 100%, with infrequent coughing. By the evening though it was definitely happening more along with plenty of sniffles.
Before I woke up in the morning my partner was telling me that yeah, said friend is feeling ill now and so we all got to mask up and get dropped off back home where we now have to hope that our exposure wasn't enough that we also get sick!
And it's extra annoying because there have been multiple times over these past years where due to someone feeling not 100%, we just canceled and rescheduled for another time. Even on New Year's Eve at one point. So now we get to just play the waiting game.
My partner and I were in the guest bedroom, but our other friend was also in the living room with said they were feeling worse than before so ughhhhhhhhhhh
