We've been putting off a bunch of little problems around our apartment, and oops we put them off for too long.
Last week I finally felt motivated to do some things around the place, and bought some actually bright lightbulbs in preparation Winter. This was a good call boy I wish I had done this sooner.
But other issues include a very slow draining bathroom sink and a running toilet with a clearly falling apart washer in the tank. Geight and I got the equipment to fix them, only for me to discover late Sunday night that our kitchen sink was leaking.
So our past two days have been nothing but working on that as we had to remove an incredibly filthy garbage disposal with only one of its three supporting screws in place. (We since found another while cleaning nearby, but if there was ever a third, no idea what happened to it.) Geight went out to buy a replacement mounting bracket, and as of last night it seemed fixed, but the seal on the sink wasn't good enough and there was water again come morning.
We weren't even sure if it was the sink or a leak in the disposal itself, but eventually manged to figure things out and now it's attached much more securely than before. The leak is from whatever plumber's putty we bought, which is still coming up around the drain. Tomorrow we're gonna get some different stuff and lord willing be able to use our sink again.
