One of Geight's buddies was in town for a little bit and we were able to arrange meeting up at the Seattle aquarium. It was fun! It's been a long time since I just went to check out a neat place. I've actually gone there once before probably like a decade ago when I was still on the other side of the state.
I've got some pictures/videos that I need to actually upload and post. (I did not make that process easy on this blog so I'm always reluctant to upload a bunch of media.) There were fish. There were puffins. There were otters and sea lions. There were just chill birds who are used to urban environments.
It was a very nice day too.
Since the last time I had gone there they opened up a whole new building too so there was definitely more to see.
Afterwards we went to Pike Place market since it's like right next to it (after you climb multiple flights of stairs). We bought some garlic spinach fettuccine with plans to try and do some alfredo for my birthday at the end of the month. Also got some fontina cheese to try and use for our next pizza after my brother's wife was raving about how good it is on pizza when we were in PA last month.
And for a treat while there some sour apple cider that was extremely good.
It was nice to meet said buddy whose been in our online social circle for many years.
It was the biggest crowd I've been in since 2020 and I'm glad that at this point I'm confident enough in our masks that I didn't feel uncomfortable. It had me thinking about conventions and how much I miss em. Financial reasons meant the last I've been to was in 2014, and then when I was finally in a good spot again oops 2020. I'm still unsure how comfortable I'd be there though? We did eat at a restaurant once with my family when visiting them, but it was pretty quiet inside. Even then, I didn't super enjoy that. Meals and who I'd get them with at cons was such a big part of the experience for me back then that IDK what I'd want to do about eating.
Uh sorry for the sudden shift in topic there. Good night.
