Late Night Coding

Some evenings when I am high I will end up on my laptop doing code for some reason. It still feels like a very odd activity to do in that state. (I also refuse to do work on my ZZT site during such times lest I make some big mistake without realizing it.)
It's gotten some results though. I've been coding an in-browser mobile-focused version of Party House to play on my phone, and while the code is kind of comical, it is at a point now where I have to start coding in other cards to add stars so you can play a full game.
I also just did a combination page for viewing files in some (manually coded) directories on this server as well as allowing file uploads from a form at the bottom. They're both (semi)open directories on the server anyway so I'm not really getting much out of it in practice, but it's tricking me into wanting to look at some of the images I self-hosted for years. Maybe I'll do a post of fun finds.
Twitter's got a laundry list of things that were bad about it, but one that it took me years to realize was that uploading media directly to the site, even with my archive downloaded, makes finding any of it again an utter nightmare. Meanwhile files I've kept online for decades sometimes I can find super fast. A big part of what sold me on Cohost was knowing I could embed my own pictures and not lose anything if the site went away.
